The Rotary Club of Stamford St. Martins are looking for tools for Africa today
in a day long collection at Morrisons car park in Stamford. Last time they collected four van loads. They are there between 9:00am and 4:00pm in Uffington Road and we're also looking for working sewing machines to be donated. Geoff Collett from the club explains how Tools With A Mission, who they work with, use donations.
‘And we're collecting used tools that people might not want anymore and the charity refurbish the old tools. They have their own volunteers and they get put into their trades and then they go in a container and then they go out to Africa to help the poor people in Africa. To help them help themselves instead of relying on food aid all the time. And we've done this about two or three years ago and we had four van loads of tools that was collected by the charity. So I'm hoping for another successful day like we did a couple of years ago’.
