Football  

Leicester City’s poor run continues losing 2-1 at Birmingham City. For the second week running, the Foxes finishing with ten players. Straight red on 32 minutes for Bobby De Cordova-Reid. 

Peterborough United thrashed visitors Wigan Athletic 6-1. This included a first league hat-trick for Kyrell Lisbie. 

To the Peterborough and District League Premier Division where Oakham United lost 3-1 at Warboys Town, Kyul Thurley with the goal and Stamford Bells were beaten 1-0 at top of the table Netherton United.

Division One leaders Daniel Reserves drew 3-3 at Ketton Sports Premiair after trailing 3-1 during the second half. Their goals coming from a Adam Steels double and Riley Kendle with the hosts scorers being Kaine Baker, Nathan Bedford and Lewis Saunders. 

Stamford Lions went down 3-1 at Bourne Town Reserves. Captain Danny Sheehan with their goal from a header. 

Bourne Town suffered a 2-0 defeat at Basford Town in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division. 

Rugby  

Stamford’s five game unbeaten run in all competitions has ended at 2nd placed Northampton Old Scouts by 73 points to 24 but Stamford did get a 4 try bonus point.

Bourne in Counties 1 Midlands East (North) beat next to bottom Nottingham Moderns 53-5.

Stamford AFC have gone out at the quarter final stage of the East Midlands Women’s League Plate losing on penalties to SJR Worksop after drawing 2-2 at home in normal time. Fran Kavanagh and Emma Pollard with their goals. The two sides meet again next week back at Stamford in the league.
