Rugby:

Leicester Tigers are through to the Gallagher English Premiership final at Twickenham next Saturday where they will meet Bath after beating Sale Sharks 21-16.

Cricket:

The heavy rain had a major impact. Despite all but one game starting just two fixtures had a result and that was using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.

Leicestershire & Rutland League:

Oakham 1sts lost by 145 runs to Houghton & Thurnby 1sts in the Premier Division.

In the abandoned game between Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts against Oakham 3rd X1, Neil Southern made 101 for Oakham in Division 9 East.

Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire League Division 2:

Stamford Town 1sts lost by 112 runs against top of the table Southill Park 1sts.

Rutland League:

In Division 1, Burghley Park 1sts have gone top after they beat Peterborough Town at home by 45 runs after making 248 with Ben Silver scoring 124, whilst Oakham 1sts conceded their game at Newborough 1sts.

Uffington 1sts made it three wins on the bounce in Division 2 as they beat Uppingham Town by three runs who had lost their last four wickets for 19 runs. This was after they posted 185 with opener Seth Roberts scoring 63. The 2nds were not able to build on last week’s win, losing by five wickets at Laxton Park after being restricted to 114-6 in Division 4 West.

Leicestershire & Rutland League County Cup:

Oakham 1sts have gone out in Round 1 after making 186-8, Loughborough Town 1sts won by seven wickets.

Grantham and Melton Cricket Association Division 2:

Stamford Town 2nds have suffered back-to-back defeats as they lost by nine runs at home to Croxton Kerrial 1sts after bowling them out for 188.

Women’s Cricket:

Market Overton 1sts game in the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League Division 1 against Duffield 1sts was tied. Duffield 1sts made 162-9 but due to rain there was a revised target of 140. Nine runs were required off the last over but only eight runs were scored with captain Libby Perkins 63 not out.

Women’s Softball:

Oakham 1sts lost by 81 runs to top of the table Broomleys in the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League Softball Division 1 South.

Also, Oakham 1sts lost to Leicester All Stars by 22 runs.
