Football

Leicester City won 2-1 at Norwich City in the Championship, Jordan James with the stoppage time winner.

Peterborough United is off the bottom of League One after their biggest win of the season, 5-0 against AFC Wimbledon. Harry Leonard and Gustav Lindgren with two each, Kyrell Lisbie the other.

The Daniels lost 3-1 at home to Real Bedford in the Southern League Premier Central. Kai Tonge with a penalty.

To the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League. Uppingham Town drew 2-2 with goals from Martin Turiccki and Reo Wills at Sawtry. Oakham United suffered a 3-1 defeat at FC Peterborough Reserves, Aidan Quinn with the goal, whilst Stamford Bels lost, 7-1, Jack Corby scoring at Leverington Sports.

Deeping Rangers Reserves made it four wins in a row in all competitions, 3-1 at Whaplode Drove Rovers.

In Division 1, leaders Daniel Reserves now have six league wins on the bounce, 5-0 at Netherton United Reserves. Adam Steels taking his tally to 12 with a hat-trick and one each for Dan Aust and Ruben Boughey.

Stamford Lions recorded their first win of the season beating Wittering 3-0 at home with Danny Sheehan scoring a hat-trick.

Ketton Sports Premiair game was postponed.

Bourne Town beat Rugby Town 3-1, which included a Zac Allen brace in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

United Counties Premier Division North and Deeping Rangers made it three wins in a row beating Harrowby United 1-0 away. A Josh Randall strike.

Blackstones won 5-1 at home against Baldock Town in the Hinchingbrooke Cup. A Will Bestwick double plus Josh Barrett, Cameron Rankin and Nathan Rudman.

Cottesmore picked up a well-deserved 2-0 home win over Thurnby Rangers in the Everards Brewery Premier Division. Harry McLoughlin and Jordan Smith on target.

Women’s Football

Stamford AFC are through to the 2nd round of the East Midlands Women’s Regional League Plate following their 4-0 win at Coalville Town Ravens. Emma Pollard scoring all four goals in the space of 15 minutes in the second half.

Oakham United won 7-0 at Division Two side Blaby & Whetstone to go through to the 3rd round of the Leicestershire Women’s League Cup. Zina Cheikh scoring four with one each for Emma Couzens, Gemma Davies and Beth Munton

Deeping Rangers won a penalty shoot-out 3-1 at Wimblington in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup 3rd round. This was after being 3-3 at full-time. The goals coming from Kara Butler, Yas Green and Millie Youngs, whilst keeper Katie Guest saved a penalty in normal time and another in the shoot-out.

Rugby

Stamford returned to winning ways in a tight game at home by 30 points to 29 and crucially picking up a bonus point against Olney in Regional 2 Midlands East.

Counties 1 Midlands East (North) and Bourne could not make it four wins on the bounce losing the Lincolnshire derby at Spalding 31-27.

To Counties 3 Midlands East Division (South North) and Oakham lost to visitors Rugby St Andrews by 64 points to 10. Kirk Watkin try and Lewis Crellin with a conversion and penalty for Oakham with Stamford College Old Boys also losing 78-7 at Syston 3rds.

Deepings still await their first win following a 53-5 defeat at home to Shelford 3rds in the Eastern Counties Greene King Division One West.

Women’s Rugby

Stamford Women 1sts returned to winning ways as they beat bottom of the table Harpenden Women away by 31 points to 12 in the Women's NC 1 East League as they ran in five tries and secured a bonus point. A result that sees them back up to second.
