Leicester City despite goals from Stephy Mavididi and Jordan James lost 3-2 at home to Sheffield United in the Championship. 

Peterborough United had a fruitless trip to Doncaster Rovers losing 2-1. Harry Leonard with the Posh goal. 

The Daniels could not make it two wins on the bounce in the league going down 2-0 at Banbury United in the Southern League Premier Central.  

In Division 1 of the Peterborough and District League, leaders Daniels Reserves run of seven wins in a row in the league has ended as they lost 2-0 to visitors Bourne Town Reserves, whilst Ketton Sports Premiair beat bottom side Crowland Town Reserves 4-2. Nathan Ball double and one each for Josh Gear and Dean Giglio.  

Ten-man Bourne Town were beaten 2-0 at home by 2nd placed Belper Town in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division. Richard Jones having been sent off on 35 minutes. 

Women’s Football

Oakham United’s winning run in the league since September continues as they ran out winners at home to 2nd placed Kirby Muxloe, 4-1 in the Leicestershire Women’s League Division 1. A Zina Cheikh double and one each for Emma Couzens and Gemma Davies.

Northampton Saints unbeaten run in the Gallagher English Premiership has ended abruptly at Bristol with a 46-12 defeat that sees them drop to 2nd. 

Stamford beat bottom side Wellingborough at home 26-14 in Regional 2 Midlands East. 

Counties 1 Midlands East (North) saw Bourne complete at 10-3 win away at Kesteven. 

In Counties 3 Midlands East Division (South North), Oakham produced their best performance of the season with a 50 points to nil victory over Vipers 2nds as they ran in eight tries. Two for Angus Boyle and one each for Oliver Crellin, James Easson, Josh McGarry, Liam Powell, Reuben Styles and Brian Takala. Lewis Crellin with five conversions. 

Stamford College Old Boys have suffered consecutive league defeats at home this time to Leicester Lions 2nds who ran out winners by 33 points to 12. The Olds Boys points coming from Taylor Crowson with two tries and a conversion from Liam Greenslade.  

Deepings lost 32-17 at home to St Ives 2nds in the Eastern Counties Greene King Division One West.
