Stamford AFC could not make it four East Midlands Women’s Regional Premier Division wins in a row losing 2-0 at 3rd placed Rotherham United in their penultimate league game of the season. Both goals coming in the first half.

Rugby
A big Saturday of home NLD cup action saw Stamford 1sts through to the final of the NLD Senior Cup without taking to the field as Dronfield withdrew.
More success as the 2nd team is through to the Junior Plate final following an emphatic 63 points to nil win over Ollerton Hoods. In the final they will play Buxton.
Congratulations to the Stamford Colts who have lifted the NLD Colts Cup with a 34-16 win over West Bridgford at Boston.

The Stamford College Old Boys 1st team beat the Presidents Select XV 25-15 in the Memorial fixture. The try scorers for the 1sts were a Harry Bell double and one each for Tom Barrett and Ben Morgan. Tom Birks, Alan Flanders and Dave Maudsley with tries for the Presidents.
Leicester Tigers have won the English Premiership Rugby Cup for the first time to give Geoff Parling head coach his first trophy after trouncing Exeter Chiefs by 66 points to 14.
Included in the Tigers points were ten tries, two each for Archie van de Flier, Joseph Ward and Billy Searle who also added six conversions. It is the highest score made and margin of victory in a final since the cup competition was created in 2018 and the first time since 2022 that a West Country team has not won the trophy.
