Football

Well done to the Daniels who secured their league status with a 3-0 win at Royston Town thanks to goals from Leon Lobjoit, Charlie Marzano and Ryan Wilson.

Leicester City after losing 1–0 at Portsmouth are one step nearer to relegation.

Peterborough United drew 1-1 thanks to a Harry Leonard equaliser on the hour against fellow strugglers Burton Albion.

In the Peterborough and District League Premier Division, Uppingham Town won 2-0 over visitors FC Peterborough to complete the double. Fynn Seggie and Rio Wills with the goals.

Away defeats for Oakham United, 3-2 at Whaplode Drove Rovers, Kyul Thurley with both and Deeping Rangers Reserves, 2-1 against Moulton Harrox. Stamford Bells lost 5–1 at Eye Rangers. Lewis Morley with their goal.

Now to Division 1 and Ketton Sports Premiair went down 1-0 away at Bourne Town Reserves, whilst Stamford Lions lost 4-1 at Crowland Town Reserves. Charlie Jackman with their goal.

Bourne Town has been relegated from the Northern Premier League Midlands Division following their 3-2 home defeat against Boldmere St Michaels.

Blackstones ended their campaign in the United Counties Premier Division North with a 1-1 draw against Harrowby United. Josh Sennett with the equaliser in second half stoppage time.

Cottesmore’s last home game of the season saw them defeat Hathern 2-1 in the Everards Brewery Premier Division. Shaun Dennigan and Leon Kavanagh scoring.

Women’s Football

Oakham United beat visitors Harborough Town 5-3 in the league. On target were Zina Cheikh and Remmie Ferla with two goals each and Emma Couzens the other.

Oakham United are through to the Under 17 League Cup Semi-finals after they beat Syston Town Juniors Pumas on penalties after being 3-3 at full time.

Wins at home for Market Overton 2nds by 10 wickets over Houghton & Thurnby 4th X1, and Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts by 83 runs against Syston Town 3rds.

Lincolnshire Premier Cricket Leagues

Ketton Sports 1sts beat Sleaford 2nds away by 13 runs whilst the 2nds conceded their fixture.

Rutland League

Uffington 2nds suffered a 158-run defeat after the visitors Upwood 1sts had posted 323-2 and Ketton Sports 1sts lost to Kimbolton 1sts at home.

Grantham and Melton Cricket Association League

Burghley Park 2nds started their season with a two-wicket home win over Croxton Kerrial 1sts.

Rugby

Looking at the rest of our teams and in the Gallagher English Premiership, leaders Northampton Saints got a late victory in the closing seconds at 4th placed Exeter Chiefs by 35 points to 28 thanks to a Fin Smith try and conversion.

Leicester Tigers demolished bottom side Newcastle Red Bulls at home, 62-3. Ten tries were scored including five for Gabriel Hamer-Webb.

Now to Counties 1 Midlands East (North) and Bourne made it six wins on the bounce as then leaders Market Rasen & Louth were defeated at Bourne 33-22.

To Counties 3 Midlands East Division (South North) and Oakham completed the double over Stamford College Old Boys by 26 points to 5. Sam Weatherall scoring two tries.
