Football

Peterborough United lost 3-1 at Stockport County despite taking the lead.

The Daniels in their last fixture maintained their unbeaten home record since November with a 0-0 draw against Harborough Town, champions of the Southern League Premier Central.

In the Peterborough and District League Premier Division, Uppingham Town in their last home game made it seven wins in a row, 3-1 over Moulton Harrox, Rio Wills scoring a hat-trick. Last league games saw Oakham United win at home against Ramsey Town 2-1. Eddie Sakovich and Charlie Willis. Deeping Rangers Reserves beat Sawtry 2-1 away.

Stamford Bels lost 7-4 at Crowland Town with their goals coming from a Lewis Morley brace with Lukasz Kamejsza and Keenan Murphy the others.

In Division 1 and Stamford Lions went down 5-0 to visitors YDP.

Bourne Town in their last game of the season lost 4-3 at Belper Town in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

Cottesmore were beaten 3-0 at Highfield Rangers in the Everards Brewery Premier Division.

Women’s Football

Stamford AFC beat SJR Worksop 4-1 at home to complete a league double in their last game of the season. Maddi Moore had put them ahead on 21 minutes with Emma Pollard scoring a 16 minute second half hat-trick.

Oakham United made it three league wins in a row, 5-0 at Allexton & New Parks, a league double. Zina Cheikh scoring four all in the first half and Remmie Ferla the other.

Youth Football

Rugby

Leaders Northampton Saints in the Gallagher English Premiership won on a nail biter at Franklin’s Gardens, 41-38 thanks to a last-minute penalty from Finn Smith against 2nd placed Bath. Leicester Tigers remain in 3rd despite losing 19-15 away at Saracens.

Final games in Counties rugby saw Bourne six game unbeaten run end going down 48-8 at Mellish.

There were also defeats for Oakham at Market Harborough 2nds by 64 points to 5, a Lewis Crellin try, with Stamford College Old Boys beaten at home 57-17 by Rugby St Andrews.

Women’s Rugby

Stamford Women 1sts completed their Women’s NC 1 East league season with an emphatic 67 points to 0 win over Wymondham Wasps to complete a league double.

Stamford ran in 11 tries. Liberty Ashdown, Holly Crewe and Sammy Pocock all scoring two and one each for Gemma Alcoran, Brogan Cranfield, Mia Gilbert, Jorja Matchwick and Sarah Mitchelson.

Conversions from Emily Russell with three, Sammy Pocock two and one for Liberty Ashdown.

Leicestershire and Rutland Leagues

A mixed afternoon for Oakham, the 1sts lost by 4 wickets at Leicester Ivanhoe 1sts, whilst the 2nds lost by the same margin at home to Syston Town 2nds. The 3rds won by 11 runs against visitors Market Overton 2nds. James White taking 6-30.

Disappointing afternoon for Uppingham Town. The 1sts were beaten at Loughborough Greenfields 1sts by 7 wickets, the 2nds losing by 40 runs at Birstall Village 2nds, whilst the 3rds suffering a 10-wicket defeat at home to Daman Iconz 3rds.

Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts went down at Rothley Park 4th XI by seven wickets

Lincolnshire Premier Cricket Leagues

Burghley Park 1sts got off to a winning start beating visitors Spalding 1sts by 93 runs, whilst the 2nds lost to Castor & Ailsworth 1sts by 57 runs.

Ketton Sports 1sts made it back-to back wins this time by 116 runs at home over Grantham 2nds. Freddie Renton taking 5-31. The 2nds though lost at Orton Park 2nds by 134 runs.

Stamford Town 2nds in their season opener lost by 5 wickets at Billingborough 2nds, whilst Uffington 1sts got underway with a six-wicket victory at home over Holme 1sts.

Rutland Leagues

Ketton Sports 1sts had a 9 wicket win at home over Moulton Harrox 1sts with Uffington 1sts losing by eight wickets to visitors City 1sts.

Grantham and Melton Cricket Association Division 2

Burghley Park 2nds were beaten at home by 20 runs against Quorn, whilst Market Overton 1sts lost by 115 runs at Buckminster.

Women’s Cricket

East Midlands Women’s Cricket League Division 1 South

Market Overton Women 1sts lost by 71 runs at home to Plumtree 1sts.
