One of the world's best trumpeters is playing in Oakham tonight.
Louis Dowdeswell is the special guest of Steve Foster's All Star big band at Oakham School Chapel. Louis has played all over the world on film soundtracks and songs and was featured on Michael Bublé's last album. The 18 piece Big Band of Professional Players from across the country will see Louis join them for six songs this evening. Steve Foster says they were so lucky to get him to play in the county town tonight.
‘Oh who’s Louis Dowdeswell? You will hear him on every jingle you hear, every film you go to. He is Michael Bublé's go to lead trumpet player and the guy Callam Au, who's written his arrangements, has written the arrangements for Michael Bublé's last album. We're talking top, top, top quality here. Yeah, so that's Louis and we're very excited to have him’.
