Conkers have been donated from across the continent to ensure the World Conker Championships
near Oundle goes ahead today after a poor native crop. Over 700 large playing conkers are needed to run the event. Donations have come in from Italy, France and various parts of the UK, including an official donation from Windsor Castle. The event takes place at the Shuckburgh Arms at Southwick and since it started in 1965 it's raised nearly half a million pounds to help good causes, particularly sight loss charities.
