Altar Frontals at St John's Church, Stamford

Beautiful altar frontals and other fabrics will be on display in St John's Church, Stamford, as part of the Churches Conservation Trust 'Celebrate your Church' week. These embroidered and decorated cloths and vestments reflect the different festivals and seasons of the church's year and have formed part of the history of St John's since the early 18th century. A rare opportunity to see many of the altar frontals at close hand and explore the meaning of the different colours and designs used throughout the year.
