We will be as tradition has it, dancing the sun up at 5.15 til 6.00am on May Day morning, but "to share the love", as it were, we are breaking with tradition and dancing the sun up in OAKHAM Market Place rather than Uppingham Market Place.
This is a big change for us, apart from the Covid years and an odd year when we danced at a caravan site overlooking Rutland Water we have danced in Uppingham since the Fox and Hounds in Preston closed in about 1996 ! As I say "time to share the love", but we do know that people travel some distance to watch us dancing and Mumming and we are anxious to let people know that we have a change of venue this MayDay morning. We don't want them waiting, disappointed when we are just down the road !
