The 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain is being marked in Stamford this morning with a parade.
An open air service near the town's War Memorial on Broad Street from 10:30. The mayoral procession from the Town Hall to Browns Hospital begins the event, which also features a parade by RAF Wittering, members of the Royal British Legion and cadets from the town. The service is being led from Browns Hospital and will include an address from the Mayor councillor Amanda Wheeler and the poet laureate Ross Ayres. Wreaths are also being laid and a two minutes silence observed at 11am. Broad Street and Star Lane are closed until lunchtime.
