Burghley House hosts the Battle Proms Concert

Source: Battle Proms Concerts Facebook page

A Proms concert like no other returns to Burghley House tonight for the 20th time.

The team behind Battle Proms believe they have the only performance of Beethoven's Battle Symphony with nearly 200 cannons firing off in time with the orchestra. There is also the cavalry, the grey Spitfire and fireworks to round off the evening. This year for the first time there’s a dance workshop to encourage the thousands who attend to move to wartime favourites. The event is also collecting for SSAFA. Amber Dexter from the Battle Proms team says it's one of their favourites venues. They have four in total.

‘We love Burghley House. It is the most beautiful location and we're so proud to have been staging our concerts there for 20 consecutive years, although obviously there wasn't one in 2020. So we're celebrating our 20th concert at Burghley House and we are also going all out to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two and we're going out totally vintage 40s style this year with lots of exciting programme additions’.
