A group of Rutland veterans spent last night outside in the elements to help raise money to help thousands of homeless ex-service people across the county.
A Great Tommy Sleepout takes place during March and raises money for Royal British Legion Industries. Mark Taylor from the Rutland Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club says it's something they like to support.
"The Great Tommy Sleepout is an initiative born out of the Royal British Legion Industries, which is separate to the Royal British Legion. And they've been doing some great work with veterans, setting up a homeless village almost, raising money, raising awareness. And we've got something like 6,000 homeless veterans across the country, which is a staggering amount of veterans that are in crisis, so to speak. And we are out here doing our bit. So one night in March, we sleep under the stars. We raise awareness. We cannot replicate homelessness - we don't set out to do so - but what we do is come together and do our bit for a great cause."
