Rutland and Leicestershire's rural crime team says there's been a spike in thefts of Ifor Williams trailers locally.
They say they are planned and targeted thefts where offenders are organised and move quickly. They are appealing to all owners to tighten security by fitting wheel and hitch locks, installing and activating trackers and parking them in secure, well lit and ideally locked areas. They say every extra layer of security makes it harder for them to be stolen and to make it easier for those that are taken to be returned to their owner.
