Residents in the Rutland village of Market Overton are being asked to view and comment on the Village Neighbourhood Plan which is now open for consultation. The Plan covers a wide range of development areas for the village.
People in Market Overton are being urged to have their say on the Neighbourhood Plan which has been formally submitted to Rutland County Council. It sets out how the village should be developed, as far as 2036, and has been prepared by the village steering group and the local community.
The Plan covers design, housing, the environment, the local economy and community facilities. It is available to view online here: Market Overton Neighbourhood Plan | Rutland County Council, in person at RCC offices in Oakham. It is also available to view at the Market Overton village hall on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Friday mornings and Monday and Tuesday evenings.
The consultation runs until the 15th September when it will pass to an independent examiner who will decide whether the plan should be voted on in a referendum.
This is in addition to the county-wide Local Plan which is still in its early stages of development.
We're holding a drop-in session for local people who are interested in learning more about volunteering opportunities with the community radio station serving Rutland, Stamford and the surrounding area. The drop-in event is being held in the theatre lounge at Stamford Corn Exchange from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday 24 April.
The two campaign groups against the proposed development on the north side of Stamford are joining forces for what they say is one final push for people to comment. Neither Stamford North nor Quarry Farm have been approved for planning yet. The South Kesteven District Local Plan is also out for consultation following some revisions.
