Uppingham's new Beat Bobby has begun patrolling the county.
PC George Pears spent four years as a response officer for Melton and Rutland and last night was out on patrol in Uppingham with PCSO Lauren Lyall. They helped an elderly lady who'd had a fall, seized a car with no insurance and then focused on the night time economy, particularly drink and drug drivers and anyone behaving anti socially. Next week, PC Pears plans to introduce himself to people in the town during the day.
