An international bird watching day coordinated in Rutland has broken records.
The October Big Day, which took place last Saturday, saw nearly 900,000 people take part worldwide, with 48,000 eBirders collectively reporting 2.1 million individual bird observations. Making it the first day in October to ever surpass 100,000 checklists in a single day.196 countries took part, including birders from Rutland.
