The Rutland COVID Vaccination Centre is now beginning phase two of the national programme. That means everyone aged 50 and over in Rutland has now been offered the chance to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
When the NHS began to administer Covid-19 vaccinations around the country in December last year it was quickly decided that those over 50 and those most vulnerable would be the first to be offered immunisation. This became Phase One of the national Covid vaccination programme and it has now, thankfully, been completed just ahead of schedule.
The Rutland COVID Vaccination Centre is now beginning phase two of the national programme. That means everyone aged 50 and over in Rutland has now been offered the chance to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and those under 50 are now starting to be contacted by the NHS.
The latest figures from the Rutland Primary Care Network reveal 6776 people in the county have been fully vaccinated at the Rutland COVID Vaccination Centre, and an additional 16,701 have received just their first dose at Catmose. The latest vaccine Moderna has not been made available to local vaccination sites yet, and Astra Zeneca is continuing to be used unless patients have a previous history of blood clots, however anyone under 30 is to be offered Pfizer.
