Rutland Police are appealing for information after a serious collision last Sunday on the A6003 between Uppingham and Corby.
Officers received a call just after 11:30pm reporting a silver Mercedes which had gone into a ditch near the junction with Stoke Road in Lyddington. The caller had not been involved in the incident and police don't know exactly when the collision happened. Police and ambulance attended The front seat. The passenger of the car, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he currently remains in a serious condition. The driver, a 19 year old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged. The driver has also since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving above the legal alcohol limit. Anyone who has dashcam footage or has any information and can help confirm the time the car left the road at Lyddington is urged to get in touch with Leicestershire Police.
