At least as many Rutland County Councillors, who are not part of the cabinet, were outside the meeting last night which attempted to explain the decision to close Catmose Sports Centre to the public from the end of March.
Just six councillors who make up the cabinet addressed the meeting last night to explain why they made the move at the end of the contract with Stevenage Leisure to stop public access to the Sports Centre. At least as many were outside the meeting last night talking to members of the public against the decision. Paul Browne, Alan Walters and Ray Payne all represent wards in Oakham on Rutland County Council and say it’s too important a facility to lose:
