Rutland County Council has approved two controversial housing developments saying they were satisfied housebuilders had taken enough steps to mitigate flooding.
Over 90 homes will be built opposite the Bellway development on Braunston Road in Oakham by Jeakins Weir. They say it will look similar to Spinney Hill. It was originally turned down by the County Council but then approved by the planning inspector on appeal. Meanwhile, next to Ranksborough Hall at Langham, a 33 tree buffer will be planted when a 50 property Charles Church development gets underway there and the redevelopment of Uppingham Library will also recommence after the planning committee approved a change to the entrance.
