Around £15,000 has been raised by supporters of Stamford Kiwanis at last Saturday's bonfire and fireworks at Stamford Welland Academy.
It's estimated that 4,000 people came along to the Welland Academy Firework event which has been running now for 40 years. Thanks to sponsorship of the evening by Hanson Cement the ticket proceeds are donated to the Stamford Kiwanis Community Chest Trust Fund for use in 2023. This year the fund has supported Evergreen, Second Helpings, Stamford Housing Essentials Project, a number of local schools and has also given a few smaller grants to the community.
