Football:

Leicester City lost 3-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers whilst Peterborough United drew 1-1 at home with Bolton Wanderers.

The Daniels failed to make the play-off stage as they drew 2-2 at home to Halesowen Town and Harborough Town won. The Daniels were 1-0 up after two minutes through James Blunden then it was 1-1, Daniels back in front on 15 minutes through Charlie Marzano only for the visitors to equalise on 61 minutes.

A good afternoon for both Bourne Town and Blackstones who made it through to their respective play-off finals next Saturday. Bourne Town won 4-0 at home to AFC Mansfield which sees them host Boston Town. Tom Siddons scoring a brace, Zac Allen penalty and Jack Wilson. Blackstones beat Retford United 3-0 so they go to Retford FC. Will Bestwick penalty, Kieran Duffy-Weekes and Ed Thorpe the scorers.

Deeping Rangers Reserves drew 2-2 with Warboys in the Peterborough & District League Premier Division.

Women’s Football:

Oakham United beat 2nd placed Kirby Muxloe 2-1 at home thanks to a double from Zina Cheikh to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to five.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Division 1 saw Ketton Sports lose 3-2 at home to bottom of the table Waterbeach Colts Women. Fran Kavanagh and Lauren McKeever with the Ketton Sports goals.

Youth Football:

Peterborough & District Leagues:

Under 18 Division 2 – Stamford AFC Young Daniels Silver 1–5 Ketton Sports.

Under 16 Division 3 – Whittlesey Junior 4-2 Ketton Sports.

Rugby

Leicester Tigers beat Harlequins 40-7, whilst Northampton Saints made it back-to-back wins in the Gallagher English Premiership as they beat Bristol 48-31.

Stamford Women beat Long Eaton 41-36 to win the NLD.

Cup. Two tries for Poppy Murray and one each for Brogan Cranfield, Catelyn Etherington, Jorja Matchwick and Emily Russell. Daisy Attley with a penalty and four conversions.

Stamford Men’s pursuit continues for more silverware as they are safely through to the quarter-finals of the Papa John’s Men’s Community Cup after beating Finchley 36-5 away.

Bourne are also through to quarter-final action after home walk over Papa John’s Community Cup Counties 1 North Shield.

Stamford College Old Boys 1sts beat the Presidents XV 32-17.

Cricket:

Leicestershire & Rutland League:

Oakham Town 1sts lost by 9 wickets away at Newtown Linford 1sts in the Premier Division.

In Division 1, Uppingham Town 1sts lost to Broomleys 1sts by 134 runs after being bowled out for 89.

Division 4 East Oakham Town 2nd X1 went down at home to Leicester Cricketers 1sts by 53 runs.

Uppingham Town 2nd X1 lost by eight wickets at Thorpe Arnold 2nd XI in Division 5 East after being dismissed for 172.

A tight game in Division 7 East saw Market Overton 1sts lose by two wickets away at Gumley 1sts.

Division 9 East:

Market Overton 2nd X1 posted 330-5 with John Whiting 218 not out as they beat Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts by 86 runs.

Oakham 3rd X1 beat Fleckney Village 2nd XI after making 245-4 including a century from Neil Southern. James Anthony taking 5-21 for Oakham.

Uppingham Town 3rd X1 conceded their fixture at Countesthorpe 3rd X1.

Lincolnshire Cricket Board Premier League:

Burghley Park 1sts beat Sleaford 1sts by 51 runs after making 267-6, which included 117 not out from Pete Foster.

South Lincs & Border League:

Ketton Sports 1sts lost at home to Bourne 2nd X1 in the Championship by 39 runs.

Division 1 and Burghley Park 2nd XI lost by eight wickets after being dismissed for 101 at Orton Park 1sts.

Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire League:

Division 2 - Stamford Town 1sts lost their league opener at home to Waresley 1sts by 9 run.

Rutland League:

Division 3 saw Stamford Town 1sts tie at Castor & Ailsworth. Stamford who elected to bat made 225-7 with the hosts in reply 225-5.

Ketton Sports 1sts were beaten by 169 runs away at Northampton Saints 1sts as they were all out for 75.

Division 4 East saw Market Overton 1sts dismissed for 81 as Ramsey Sunday Rutland XI won by seven wickets.

Grantham and Melton Cricket Association Division 2:

Burghley Park 2nd X1 won their league opener by seven wickets against Stamford Town 2nd X1 who had made 206-8.

Women’s Cricket

Market Overton 1sts are out of the ECB National T20 Plate after losing away by eight wickets to Duffield 1sts.
