Football:

The Midlands derby between Nottingham Forest and Leicester City ended with the points shared in a 2-2 draw.

Women’s Football:

Oakham United completed their season as they finished 2nd in the league beating Allexton & New Parks 7-0. Zina Cheikh and Molly Cunningham with two each, Emma Couzens, Gemma Davies and Vicky Smith the other scorers.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Division 1 saw Ketton Sports end their season with a 2-1 win over Cambridge Rangers 1sts, a Sascha Smith double. In Division 2, Deeping Rangers lost 3-2 away to 2nd placed Soham Town Rangers.

Rugby: 

Northampton Saints in the Gallagher English Premiership lost 42-14 at Exeter Chiefs.

Congratulations to Stamford rugby club who have made it to the final of the Papa John’s Men’s Community Cup after winning in extra time by 49 points to 44 at home to Novocastrians. The win sees them going to Twickenham next Saturday where they will face Brunel University.

Cricket: 

Leicestershire & Rutland League:

Oakham Town 1sts lost to Leicester Ivanhoe 1sts by 148 runs after the visitors made 339-3.

Division 1, Uppingham Town 1sts lost by eight wickets to Kibworth 2nds after being dismissed for 133.

Uppingham Town 2nds in Division 5 East went down by 127 runs at LCS Cricket Academy 2nds.

Market Overton 1sts in Division 7 East won at Bharat Sports 3rd XI by 18 runs.

Division 9 East saw a mixed afternoon for our local sides at home:

Market Overton 2nds won by two wickets after dismissing Broughton Astley 2nds for 93.

Oakham 3rd X1 secured a nine-wicket victory against Rothley Park 4th XI.

Uppingham Town 3rd X1 lost by 168 runs to Electricity Sports 4th XI after being dismissed for 108.

Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts were dismissed for 115 by leaders Egerton Park 3rd XI who won by nine wickets.

Lincolnshire Cricket Board Premier League:

Burghley Park 1sts bounced back from last week’s defeat as they beat Grimsby Town 1sts by 98 runs.

South Lincs & Border League:

Ketton Sports 1sts recorded their first win of the season by 37 runs as they dismissed Skegness 1sts for 134 in the Championship.

Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire League Division 2:

Stamford Town 1sts continue their unbeaten run with a nine wicket win after dismissing Godmanchester Town 1sts for 74. Anoop Poulose taking 5-10.

Huntingdonshire League Division 2:

Stamford Town 2nds won by six wickets as they restricted Sheikh 11 1sts to 196-9.

Rutland League:

Division 1 saw Burghley Park 1sts make 317, James Laud 103 beat City 1sts by 25 runs, whilst Oakham 1sts went down by 97 runs at Barnack 1sts.

In Division 2, Uppingham Town won by eight wickets at City 2nds with Hayden Brough undefeated on 98.

Division 3, Stamford Town 1sts won by 25 runs at home against Ketton Sports 1sts.

Market Overton 1sts went down at home by 87 runs against United Sports 2nds in Division 4 East, whilst in Division 4, West Uffington 2nds lost by 65 runs to LGR 1sts.

Grantham and Melton Cricket Association Division 2:

Burghley Park 2nds lost by 77 runs at Ashby Carrington 1sts, whilst Stamford Town 2nds were dismissed for only 19 as Buckminster won by nine wickets.

Women’s Cricket:

Market Overton 1sts lost to Ockbrook & Borrowash 1sts in the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League Division 1 by two wickets.
