In the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League there were home wins for Uppingham Town who beat Sawtry 6-1 thanks to two goals from Sam Blackwell and Cam Cleaver and one each for Tom Stanfield and Max Walker, whilst Oakham United beat Whaplode Drove Rovers 5-1. A goal apiece for Ollie Cox, Jake Hatherill, Harry Kirkby, Finn Rawlings and Charlie Willis.
To Division 1 and leaders Daniels Reserves won 4-3 at Glinton & Northborough. Joey Buckingham brace, Adam Steels and Jack Walton.
Ketton Sports Premiair suffered their first defeat, 4-3 at home to Netherton United Reserves despite goals from Adam Ball, Seeraj Gohil and Lewis Saunders. Stamford Lions lost 2-1 at Park Farm Pumas. Sean Edwards scoring.
Peterborough and District League Senior Cup saw Stamford Bells through to the semi-finals with a 4-1 win at Leverington Sports, two goals for Zac Treweek and one each for Rob Forster and Jacob Smith, whilst Deeping Rangers Reserves lost 4-2 away to Netherton United.
Blackstones are in the 2nd Round of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy following a 4-3 win over Brigg Town. The goals coming from a Nathan Rudman double, Will Bestwick and Cameron Rankin.
Bourne Town drew 1-1 at Rugby Borough in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.
Deeping Rangers lost 3-0 at home to Kimberley Miners Welfare in the United Counties Premier Division North.
Cottesmore went down 2-1 away at Hathern, Josh Clark with the goal in the Everards Brewery Premier Division.
Women’s Football
Stamford AFC had another fruitless trip to Mansfield Town Ladies after losing in the league last month. This time they lost 3-0 in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Cup 1st Round despite being 0-0 at half-time. The hosts took the lead on 58 minutes with two goals in the final ten minutes which does not reflect the closeness overall.
Top of the table Oakham United in the Leicestershire Women’s League Division 1 made it four wins on the bounce at Saffron Dynamo. Zina Cheikh with another double and the other goals coming from Emma Couzens and Beth Munton

Rugby
Northampton Saints remain unbeaten and are up to second following a see-saw game at Franklin's Gardens against Leicester Tigers 32-26 in the Gallagher English Premiership thanks to two tries from Anthony Belleau and tries from Tom Pearson, Fin Smith and Edoardo Todaro with Fin Smith adding two conversions and a penalty.
Stamford had to settle with a 17-17 draw away at Peterborough in the Regional 2 Midlands East thanks to a late try from Peter Hurrell. This was after they had been leading 12-0 in the first half.
Counties 1 Midlands East (North), Bourne pulled off an impressive win at unbeaten leaders University of Nottingham by 50 points to 26.
To Counties 3 Midlands East Division (South North) and Oakham failed to make it two wins in a row losing at Birstall 64-21 after trailing 43-0 at the break. Brian Takala with two tries and Ulaiasi Tavisa the other. Lewis Crellin with three conversions.
Stamford College Old Boys remain unbeaten at home following a 40 points to 5 win over South Leicester. Callum Fraser and Jimmy Twose both with two tries, Dan Bancroft and Sam Wilkinson also going over. Carl Brierley-Lewis with five conversions.
Deepings lost their Eastern Counties Greene King Division One West opener 36-22 at Mildenhall Red Lodge.
