Football

Leicester City beat high flying Ipswich Town 3-1 thanks to goals from Jordan Ayew, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Abdul Fatawu.

Peterborough United have moved out of the bottom four in League One after their 2-1 home win over ten-man Northampton Town. The visitors had Jack Perkins sent off on just ten minutes. Harry Leonard scoring both.

In the Premier Division of the Peterborough and District League, Uppingham Town lost in the last minute, 1-0 at Ramsey Town with Stamford Bells also losing, 3-2 away at FC Peterborough Reserves.

To Division One and some game between Daniels Reserves and visitors YDP. The final score being 5-5 after Daniel Reserves had trailed on three occasions. Scorers for them were a Matty Walker brace and one each from Ruben Boughey, Joey Buckingham and Jake Walton. Three of YDP goals coming from the penalty spot.

Ketton Sports Premiair lost for the first time in the league since October, 3-2 away at Yaxley Reserves. This was after leading at the break 2-1 thanks to a Nathan Ball double.

Stamford Lions game against Netherton United Reserves was postponed.

Deeping Rangers Reserves went down 4-1 at home to Skegness Town Reserves in the Lincolnshire FA County Junior Cup.

Bourne Town recorded their first win in four in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division as they beat Racing Club Warwick, 1-0 away. Robbie Ellis strike in the second half.

United Counties Premier Division North saw Blackstones lose at home to Heanor Town 3-1, substitute Kieran Duffy-Weekes with the goal. Meanwhile, Deeping Rangers were beaten 2-0 at leaders Boston Town.

Cottesmore got their first win in three games in the Everards Brewery Premier Division as they won 4-2 at Desford. Josh Clark scoring two with Oli Troth and Leon Kavangh with a penalty the other goals.

Women’s Football

In the East Midlands Women’s Regional Premier Division, Stamford AFC suffered their heaviest defeat of the season, 8-1 away at top of the table Chesterfield who at the same time completed the league double over them. Nicole Hendrick with the lone reply.

Deeping Rangers could not make it back-to-back league wins in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Division 1 losing 2-0 at Cambridge City FC Development who picked up their first points of the season.

Rugby

Stamford picked up their first away win in Regional 2 Midlands East as well completing a league double over Old Coventrians by 36 points to 12. In a dominant display by the side, they also secured a bonus point win.

Bourne in Counties 1 Midlands East (North) made it four wins in a row, whilst earning a bonus point as they beat visitors Keyworth 40-12. A result that sees them up to third in the league.

To Counties 3 Midlands East Division (South North) and Oakham lost at home to 2nd placed Sileby Town by 27 points to 21 after a spirited second-half fight back after trailing 20-7 at half-time. The Oakham tries coming from Will Begy, Terry McCourt and Josh McGarry. Lewis Crellin with three conversions.

Stamford College Old Boys went down 26-10 away to Birstall. The Old Boys points coming from tries by Alan Flanders and Sam Wilkinson.

Deepings are still without a win in Eastern Counties Division One West after they were beaten at home 21-9 by Saffron Walden 2nds.

Northampton Saints made it back-to-back wins in Pool 4 as they beat visitors Pretoria Bulls 50-5 in the Investec Champions Cup, which included three tries for George Hendy and two for Ollie Sleightholme. The result sees the Saints go top.

In Women’s Rugby, Stamford Women 1sts drew 17 all at Hitchin Ladies in the Women's NC 1 East league.
