Burghley House is reminding visitors about the importance of keeping their dog on a lead
in every part of their parkland near Stamford after one of the two bucks of their free roaming fallow deer was attacked by a dog and died from its injuries. They also have grazing sheep and say this distressing incident is a stark reminder that even well trained and well behaved dogs can behave unpredictably around wildlife. The incident happened just before Christmas.
