Police in Rutland say carrying a knife in public or on school premises could lead to four years in prison.
Officers have spoken to a young person in the county who was suspected of carrying a knife in a rucksack. It was recovered and those believed to be involved were spoken with. A weapons amnesty bin is available at the front desk of Oakham Police Station where any articles could be handed in with no questions asked.
