Leicestershire Fire and Rescue is reminding us to continue to think about the wintry conditions this weekend
as freezing temperatures remain across the Rutland and Stamford area. Yesterday morning when roads were at their iciest crews responded to several Rd traffic collisions resulting in several people hurt and many cars badly damaged. We are being urged to drive slowly and extra carefully and also to take care on pavements if walking. Rutland County Council say gritters were out again last night. They say in snowy and icy conditions they spread up to five times more salt than when it's just frosty. The Stamford area got its first taste of snow this year overnight, but just a dusting
