A drugs dog has been visiting pubs in East Northants to identify anyone carrying illegal substances in licensed premises.
Northants police neighbourhood officers joined forces with North Northamptonshire Council in 12 pubs and clubs from King's Cliffe and Oundle to Fotheringhay, Polebrook and further into the district. Willow from Alpha K9, accompanied by a handler, joined officers in a series of visits, which saw a number of individuals searched after the dog became suspicious for possession.
Offences were identified including carrying cocaine, cannabis, and ketamine. Officers also recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine, which had been discarded on the floor of one premises, along with suspected cannabis found inside an abandoned handbag.
