If it's not snow it's ice and if it's not ice it's flooding.
Wintry showers continue to be a problem for much of Rutland and Stamford. Leicestershire and Rutland 4x4 Response have been out from the early hours. They say a number of vehicles were abandoned on the Oakham to Tilton Road and they also helped transport a doctor to Leicester. Rutland Medical Solutions has deployed a number of off-road ambulances to cope with conditions on more minor routes and higher ground where normal ambulances are struggling and have a number of vehicles with extra traction devices, including snow chains that can be deployed at the touch of a button. They say please continue to call 999 in an emergency but if they can help essential workers or anyone unable to get to a doctor or emergency appointment they will. They say the ambulance services are especially stretched today and they are working with Leicestershire and Rutland 4x4 response.
