A fundraiser to help a dancing dog and his owner from Little Bytham represent Team GB in Sweden is over halfway to its target.
Claire Rasell from Rasell's Nurseries and her 4-year-old Golden Retriever dog Dexter have been selected as reserves for the European Open Dog Championships in Sweden next month. Claire set a target of £1600 on her GoFundMe page, and anyone who donates has a chance of winning a prize from either the nursery, a local artist or pet shop. The raffle is open until next month, and Claire says any support will really help her journey to represent Team GB with her dog.
"Yes, so the Kennel Club will support us by putting in our entry and supporting us by paying the hotels for when we're there, but we have to fund ourselves to actually get there, for all the vaccinations and you know, once they all add up, the vaccinations, the certificates for this, that and the other, it starts adding up quite a lot. And particularly we're going to Sweden for this one. It's quite a lot of money. So yes, I am doing some fundraising, some raffles that we've been doing."
