Improvements to the R1 bus service, which connects Rutland with Corby and Melton
and thanks to the three councils that it covers, accessing a government grant and working together with the operator. The service now operates hourly, serving Melton Mowbray, Oakham, Uppingham and Corby in each direction and using three buses instead of two and as a result it's more reliable and regular. There's also a fresh new Rutlander design and interior as well as new roadside information at bus stops providing clearer details about services and timetables. Rutland County Council, Leicestershire County Council and North Northamptonshire Council have worked together with Bland’s buses to improve the service.
