It's International Repair Day, and the Rutland and Stamford Repair Cafe returns to St Augustine's Church in Stamford.
Volunteer fixers are on hand between 11 and 2 to help broken or worn items get a second lease of life. One of the team, Nick, spoke to us at their last event and says they try and fix whatever they can to stop items being unnecessarily thrown away.
"We've had a real range of things from electrical to sewing items. So we've repaired a teddy bear, we've fixed a musical box that hadn't been heard for over 40 years. A couple of beautiful silver picture frames. So it's been a mixed bag, really, and we are still going. We've just had a pressure washer arrive that needs a look at. We obviously give tea and coffee, and we just ask for a small donation towards the cost of running the event because we do have to hire the hall as well. But the rest of us, we're all volunteers. We just want to come along and try and share some knowledge with our communities."
