A wildlife education fundraiser will set sail on Rutland Water earlier today for its final sunset cruise of the month in a bid to provide free wildlife education for local children.
Root and Wing is working with the Osprey Leadership Foundation to encourage children to learn about wildlife. The cruise this afternoon sets off at 3:00pm due to the overnight clock change. George Smith is the project leader.
‘So we're doing these cruises through environmental education venture called Root and Wing and the idea is to make sure the kids, especially around Rutland and Leicestershire, are able to find out and be involved with nature without any cost to themselves. So we're putting on those cruises through the Root and Wing website and basically all of the money that's raised through those goes towards that free education that's being put forward for those kids’.
