Model railway fans from across the country are flocking to Stamford Welland Academy
again today for the Market Deeping Club Show. It's open till 4:00pm. Vice chairman and show organiser Peter Davies says it's on a grand scale and they want it to feel accessible for a range of interests across the eight halls.
‘We've got traders that have come up from Dorset and down from Newcastle. We've got layouts that have travelled the same sort of distance to be with us. In total, there's something like 250 staff here, including stewards, catering, layout teams, traders. It's huge. We are the biggest model railway show in East Anglia by area. Spalding has the same sort of number of layouts and traders as us, but we're able to spread out a little bit more. We're also able to have a separate learning zone where we've got demonstrations of various modelling skills. We've also got a kids zone where youngsters can go literally and play trains because we try to be a family orientated event so that whole families can come in and there's something for everybody here. You know, there's sweeties, there's cakes, there's hot dogs and there's model railways’.
