Will Begy from Oakham went to Oakham School, and also plays at Oakham's Cricket and Rugby Clubs when not at University. On Monday 1st June he begins his first marathon from Leicester Tigers, bound for Bath when they host Tigers on 6th June.
Will Begy is aiming for £10,000 to help people with Motor Neurone Disease - he's already raised more than half that.
He writes on his Road To The Rec justgiving page:
Growing up as a huge Leicester Tigers fan and as an Oakham boy, the recent news of Lewis Moody’s diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) has had a profound impact on me. Lewis has always been a huge inspiration, not just as a rugby player, but as a person, and this challenge is my way of helping raise awareness and vital funds to support those living with this devastating disease.
On 1 June, I will set off from Mattioli Woods Welford Road, Leicester, and run a total of 232km. This will involve running a marathon a day throughout the week, before completing a final half marathon on Saturday 6 June, finishing at The Rec.
