Two chicks have now hatched on the Manton Bay nest at Rutland Water.
Last night, the second emerged from a pale-colored egg that was causing concern, but both enjoyed an energetic feed at first light this morning. The number of returning ospreys has now broken all previous records with thirty-two adult birds back in the county.
Meanwhile, the weekly peregrine watch starts today in Stamford's Red Lion Square, with now four chicks and their parents to watch at the All Saints Church nest through new optics. It's on between ten and midday.
