Rutland County Council's leader has signed a letter calling for the Government to release cash to help flood hit residents across Leicestershire and Rutland.
The letter urges an immediate release of funds and a shake up of policy as many residents are still recovering from the October floods of 2023 and the New Year floods of last year. Over 600 properties were reported flooded in Leicestershire this time, 5 in Rutland. The response to flooding in Rutland and Leicestershire has been stood down as a major incident. The Lincolnshire Resilience Forum says it's changed its focus to provide recovery and support for those affected.
