Halloween moves a step closer at Stamford Corn Exchange from tonight as the Gilbert and Sullivan players begin Ruddigore, otherwise known as The Witch's Curse.
There's a 14 piece live orchestra as well as several new teenage leads. The operetta runs from tonight until Saturday. Cast member Ken Wainwright says it'll be the usual high standard with some special touches.
‘It is quite a good programme to use in Halloween time because there's some ghosts and various stories and mixed plots and throw into that Gilbert and Sullivan's music and humour and you get a really good October show which I'm sure those who've been before will be really keen to come and see. The show itself is the 100th anniversary of the first performance by a very famous Sir Malcolm Sargent. He was the musical director in Stamford. And we've also got a harmonica player from, some of you might remember, Bad Manners the ska band and David is going to play the hornpipe for us on his harmonica’.
