It's a week to go until the Rutland Flower Show opens at the Rutland Showground, and organisers hope to build on a successful debut last year with more of the same variety of opportunities to buy and learn about plants, soil, and flowers.
Guests including Adam Frost and Nick Hamilton return to the Garden Theatre. Carol Klein from Gardener's World also makes an appearance. Next weekend, there'll also be a special show garden created a memory of Geoff Hamilton 30 years after his passing and to remember what would have been his 90th birthday.
As Rutland Flower Show organiser, Tom Mumby explains:
"Yeah, Nick Hamilton and Barnsdale Gardens again have been super supportive of the show. They're sponsors this year; they're doing a special sort of tribute garden. I don't want to reveal too much except to say that for those of you that watch Gardeners World with the Geoff Hamilton specials that are going out on BBC, we are going to put something on fairly special on Friday. So a little bit of a tease as to what Adam Frost might be doing on Friday in the Garden Theatre. But what a lot of people might not realise is it would've been Geoff Hamilton's 90th on the Saturday of the show. So we are celebrating the brilliant Geoff Hamilton and we're also with it, you know, just celebrating Rutland"
