A Rutland pub is down to the last 16 nationally for CAMRA's pub of the year after winning the Rutland heat again.
The next round saw the Railway Inn in Ketton beat the whole of Leicestershire, and most recently the whole of the East Midlands. for the first time in its history.
Landlord Jamie Betts says it's a credit to everyone who makes the pub such a great local that the CAMRA members rate it so highly:
"They surreptitiously come round. They're looking for the sort of warm welcome that you give them. They're looking for the quality of the ale, the knowledge of what ales you are serving and where they're from geographically, and other elements of the ales, if you know. And then it's about the cleanliness of the pub, the welcome, the welcome they receive from other customers that are within your pub, and we're very lucky in Ketton that everyone open arms welcomes people for all walks of life."
