Second Helping Stamford is thanking everyone who helped them feed thousands
of locals last year, including a busier than expected Christmas period. From their Christmas Day lunch which served over 100 people, 83 diners and 24 takeaways to over 4,000 meals served each Saturday through the year and over 12,000 items that were taken from the pantry. They collected over 97,000 kilograms of food that would otherwise have gone to landfill and also made 1,646 lunch boxes for housebound elderly residents. Today at Barn Hill Methodist Church their pantry, community fridge and community cafe will be open as normal where volunteer cooks create a three course meal as well as those who help stock their shelves with food to take away.
