Five to 10 centimetres of heavy snow is forecast tonight for Rutland and Stamford,
particularly for the west of our area. It's likely to start as rain and turn to snow into the night. Rutland and Stamford Sound's weatherman Phil Morrish says it's still hard to tell exactly how much will fall and how it will affect us locally.
‘Prepare for snow tonight. Five centimetres at most. Perhaps a little bit more, perhaps a bit less for some on the eastern side of the region. It's a very knife edge situation. The air mass is not ultra cold but as that rain falls it's likely to turn to snow. So be prepared for some disruption’.
