Rutland Water hosted over 1000 swimmers in the annual mass participation swim run by Pacesetter Events.
With water temperature or 21 degrees the conditions were perfect for the challenge which allows the brave locals and visitors to the area to tackle the route across the reservoir.
Swimmers can take a 500m, 2km, 4km or 8km route with the longest distance participants swimming from Whitwell to the sunken Normanton Church, back to Whitwell before repeating the whole trip.
Participants travelled from all over the UK but many local swim and triathlon club members attended too.
