Football

Peterborough and District League Senior Cup Final held at the Zeeco Stadium saw Oakham United lose 4-0 to Netherton United, who have added the Senior Cup to their Premier Division Title.

Stamford Lions completed their Division One season in the Peterborough and District League losing 6-1 away to Wittering, which sees them finish next to bottom. The goal for them coming from Ollie Edwards.

Women’s Football

Oakham United suffered their heaviest defeat of the season as they lost 6-0 at home to 2nd placed Thurmaston DPC Vixens in the Leicestershire Women’s League Division 1.

In the Gallagher English Premiership, leaders Northampton Saints lost for only the second time this season in the Premiership as Leicester Tigers beat them at Welford Road by 41 points to 17.

The hosts scoring six tries, two for Jamie Blamire and one each for Ollie Hassell-Collins, George Martin, Adam Radwan and Freddie Steward. James O’Connor adding three conversions and a penalty and Orlando Bailey with one conversion. Tigers are now just five points behind the Saints with three games to go.

Oakham 1sts lost by 48 runs at home to Houghton & Thurnby 1sts. 2nds went down by 7 runs away to Sileby Town 3rds and the 3rds were beaten at Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts by 8 wickets.

Uppingham Town 1sts won by 114 runs at Enderby 1sts set up by Hayden Brough and Charlie Cox sharing in a partnership of 253 for the 2nd wicket. Hayden unbeaten on 208 (19x4s and 12x6s).

The 2nds and 3rds both won at home. The 2nds by 2 wickets over Electricity Sports 3rds. Turning to the 3rds, who won for the first time, 70 runs over Barkby United 3rds. Sammy Hanrahan 106 not out followed up by 7-20 from Kevin Webster.

Market Overton 1sts got their first win by 70 runs at home over Hallaton Stars 1sts but the 2nds lost by 210 runs at Egerton Park 3rds.

Lincolnshire Premier Cricket League

Burghley Park 1sts lost by 48 runs to visitors Scunthorpe Town 1sts with the 2nds beaten at Billingborough 1sts by 105 runs.

Ketton Sports 1sts unbeaten start has ended losing by 6 wickets at home to Orton Park 1sts, whilst Stamford Town 2nds lost by 7 wickets at Nassington 2nds.

To the T20 Cup Dave Morris South Seven round robin and Uffington 1sts are through to the next round following wins over Ketton Sports by 4 wickets and Baston 1sts by 5 wickets. Ketton Sports 2nds losing both games.

Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire League

Rutland League

In Division 1 first games, Uppingham Town beat Newborough 1sts by 3 wickets at home thanks to 99 by Charlie Cox following up his 93 on Saturday but Burghley Park 1sts lost by 3 wickets at City 1sts.

Oakham 1sts went down by 88 runs at Orton Park 1sts in Division 2. To Division 4 and the local derby, Ketton Sports 1sts won by 42 runs at home against Uffington 2nds.

Grantham and Melton Cricket Association Division 2

Burghley Park 2nds remain top following their 2 wicket win with only two balls to spare at home to Buckminster, whilst Stamford Town 2nds lost by 7 wickets to visitors Ashby Carington 1sts.
