Rugby
Leicester Tigers in the Gallagher English Premiership won by 47 points to 33 at Sale. Tigers remain a point behind second placed Bath and five behind leaders Northampton Saints.
In the final of the NLD Men’s Junior plate at Ashfield Rugby Club, Stamford 2nds lost by 29 points to 25 against Buxton. This was after they were leading at half time 19-5.

Division 1 saw Burghley Park 1sts get their first win of the season by 8 wickets at home over Ufford Park 1sts. Uppingham Town’s unbeaten start saw a 9 wicket win over visitors Uffington 1sts.
In Division 2 and Oakham 1sts posted 318-7, which included a career best 174 not out from Captain Ben Southern as they won by 100 runs at home against top of the table and unbeaten Northampton Saints 1sts. Division 3 saw Stamford Town 1sts winning start continue with a 179-run home win over Laxton Park 1sts, which included Tim Juggins 140 not out.
To Division 4 and Ketton Sports 1sts won at home by 187 runs against Kettering Town 1sts. Uffington 2nds suffered a 26-run defeat at home to visitors Oundle Town 1sts.
Grantham and Melton Cricket Association Division 2
Stamford Town 2nds won their first game of the season by 14 runs at Croxton Kerrial 1sts with Market Overton 1sts losing by 5 wickets at Frisby, Hoby & Rotherby 1sts.
East Midlands Women’s Cricket League Division 1 South
Market Overton 1sts lost at Kibworth 1sts by 3 wickets.
Leicestershire and Rutland Leagues
Oakham 1sts lost by 7 wickets at Loughborough Town 1sts with the 2nds completing a 5 wicket win over bottom side Cropston 2nds in Premier 3 North. Moving to the 3rds who secured a home win over Rothley Park 4th XI by 24 runs.
Now to Uppingham Town and the 1sts lost by 6 wickets at home to Lutterworth 2nds. The 2nds made it two wins in a row by 8 wickets at unbeaten Rothley Park 3rds, whilst the 3rds also made it back-to-back wins also by 8 wickets at bottom side in Championship 4 Central, Houghton & Thurnby 4th XI.
Not a good day for Market Overton as the 1sts went down by 96 runs at Electricity Sports 3rds with the 2nds losing at home to Daman Iconz 3rd XI by 9 wickets.
Wakerley & Barrowden 1sts game was abandoned.
Lincolnshire Premier Cricket Leagues
Burghley Park 1sts lost at Bourne 1sts by 18 runs.
Ketton Sports 1sts were defeated at home by Skegness 1sts by 7 wickets. Dan Hughes having scored 114 in the Ketton innings.
To Division 3 South and a mixed afternoon for our local sides. Stamford Town 2nds beat visitors Castor and Ailsworth 2nds by 5 wickets, whilst Uffington 1sts lost at Billingborough 2nds by 38 runs.
To the T20 Bob Welton Cup South 6, and Burghley Park 2nds in the round robin game at Burghley Park failed to make it through to the next round after losing by 87 runs to Bourne 2nds and 9 wickets to Grantham 2nds. It was Bourne 2nds who went through.
