A month long challenge to get locals out and about reached its final day on Sunday, where fundraisers came together to complete their final mile in Stamford.
The Miles for Mindspace fundraising challenge reached a sunny conclusion on Sunday. Following a month long fitness challenge where volunteers were encouraged to walk, jog, swim or cycle as many miles as they could during the month of May, fundraisers congregated at the Mindspace Hub on Red Lion Street on Sunday morning, the last day of May. From the Hub, they walked a final mile to the Wellbeing Garden on Uffington Road where they received their medals and a well deserved cuppa.
While raising vital funds for their work, the Miles for Mindspace challenge was also about encouraging people to get out more and to start developing healthy habits such as walking and cycling. Louise Goss, of Mindspace Stamford, told us: 'there's a really nice synergy there with getting outside, getting into nature, discovering our local area, getting out and walking a bit more, just adding up those miles'.
